Wedding Dresses with Cover Ups for the More Conservative Bride
The casual wedding dress could be every woman’s ultimate ambition for a gown. I, myself, have always wanted to wear one and lucky me to have indeed worn one last year.
Of course, no bride would want to look unpretty on this very special day that is why she really finds time to see a couturier and have him design the perfect wedding gown. If not, especially when the budget does not allow, she researches on the internet and goes through a lot of samples just to get the most beautiful design. And many of these designs are strapless, backless, and spaghetti-straps.
This would prove to be just what the usual bride would want. However, what about the more conservative brides? What about those women who really are not so much into wearing those clothes that reveal much skin? What could be their option without sacrificing style and elegance?
Every fashion need already has a solution. And this problem is solved by using cover ups on the casual wedding dress.
Cover ups are small jackets made of light fabric that are designed to cover the shoulder, chest, and back areas of the bride. These are also known as boleros which are already very popular among casual clothes of young women today. So we are going to utilize the design for wedding gowns.
There are many kinds and cuts of cover ups. These depend on the demands of the bride herself. Here are some of these styles.
- Lace boleros are the most formal ones. There are laces which have very small designs or stitches while there are those with really big ones. Big-boned or heavy-built brides are recommended to use the lace with small designs as these will not emphasize their size. Big stitches tend to make the shoulders wider and arms flabbier.

- For plus size brides, never use extended sleeves style because this can also emphasize big arms. The best for them are the sleeves with shearing or the puffed sleeves. These tend to raise the shoulders and create smaller arms.
- There is also the poncho type of cover up. It really is not cut like a jacket but just more of a piece of fabric that is worn over the head and drops onto the shoulders. This is also a brilliant way of hiding flabby arms to match the beautiful casual wedding dress.

- For the more stylish bride, a fur cover up or feather cover up will definitely make a statement. It will make the whole ensemble look like it came straight out of a fashion magazine.

- Some cover ups do not have to really look like a jacket. Aside from the poncho, a nice length of cloth that is embellished with stones and ribbons can be placed on one shoulder that crosses over the opposite hip. This would look like a sash.
Cover ups are not only for the conservative bride. It can be for anyone who likes to play with fashion.
