Making a Beautiful Wedding in Two Months – Wedding Story
Most weddings would happen at least six months after the engagement. This is because getting married would mean having to take care of a lot of aspects and considering certain decisions like the date and venue of the ceremonies, the guests who will be invited, the members of the entourage, the gowns if they should be formal of just casual wedding dresses, and many others. Given that the bride and groom are both working and are always up and moving, the preparations would take a lot longer. However, this does not mean that preparing for a wedding on shorter notice is impossible. In fact, it can be done in a lot shorter time.
Yes, I got married within two and a half months after my boyfriend (now husband) proposed to me. It was on June 10 to be exact. How was it possible? The following items will discuss how we became superman and superwoman for our wedding day.
FIRST and SECOND WEEKS
When our families met to formally ask for my hand in marriage, we immediately agreed on the day and venue of the special day. The entourage list was also completed immediately. We thought there was no time to waste and so we took the time to agree on everything. To avoid problems and conflicts, we made sure that both families were well represented in the entourage.
Within the week, we also completed the papers necessary for getting a marriage license. We wasted no time and we were able to grab hold of all the documents in no time.
THIRD WEEK
The wedding would not be complete if the members of the entourage did not know their part. It is very important to tell them sooner so they can vacate their schedule and make time to attend the wedding. So we informed each of the bridesmaids, maid of honor, flower girls, groomsmen, and the sponsors personally. There is a greater chance that they will say yes if we went out of our way to see them.
FOURTH WEEK and FIFTH WEEKS
Since we decided that we will be getting a couturier to create the dresses of the entourage, I decided to design my own bridesmaids’ casual wedding dresses. Most of my girls were not exactly slim so I made sure that each of the dresses emphasized their assets and low-played their flaws. Since they all had very beautiful complexions and great legs, I chose knee-length dresses for them. The female principal sponsors even wore dresses of the same color as the motif.

We visited a wedding specialist for the invitations and give-away items. Also, we went to see a wedding cake maker. Since our give-away items were three-tiered mini cake candles, our wedding cake also had the same style and color—an alternate blue and silver three-tier cake.

My gown was not exactly a casual wedding dress but it was sweet and simple. I got a strapless one with beads and stones embellished on the bodice that formed an inverted arch from the bust area down to the left hip area. The skirt was ankle length that was flowing and had an off-white generous fabric.

Immediately, I had the couturier get my measurements and also those of my bridesmaids. The flower girls had ankle length dresses with a huge ribbon at the back.
SIXTH and SEVENTH WEEKS
We went to see the florist. Upon showing her the air conditioned church that we chose, she immediately knew what flowers to use. Since there is no flower the color of turquoise, she chose light blue flowers.
EIGHTH TO FINAL WEEK
We took the time for choosing the menu and food tasting. Also, we checked for last minute changes and add-ons especially with the casual wedding dresses of the bridesmaids.
On August 21, about two and a half months from the engagement, I got married to my husband who was the superman during the preparations and the superman of my life.
