Halloween-Inspired wedding
Planning to get married soon? Have you thought about the theme? Have the invitations been designed and given away? Have the casual wedding dresses been designed? Are the sponsors coming? These are among the many considerations one has to make for wanting to take the sacrament of Holy Matrimony.
The theme should be among the very first things to choose during the preparation stage. It is the theme that controls the rest like the design of the cake, the give-away items, the flowers, the food, and many others. And if you haven’t thought of any theme yet and are getting married in a few days, try to go with the season and have a Halloween-inspired wedding.
Shocked right? A lot of people may not be open to this idea but it is actually already acceptable today. In fact, there are already designers who are ready with samples for the wedding favors that couples can use. Besides that, having this theme would not only be unique but it will also make a statement. So how can we go about adopting this theme? What aspects should be included and how can the designs be made?
- Start first with the motif. Instead of using the common hues like green, blue, red, and gold, try to use the colors of Halloween which are orange and black. Then from here, use this color for the invitations, flowers, cakes, decors, and the give-away items. The invitation may be adorned with the pumpkin design to really express the touch of Halloween. The edges may be crooked instead of straight. Get rid of white paper or material and just stick to the two colors.
- As for the give-aways, it does not necessarily have to be the usual pumpkin and other things related to Halloween. This could simply be the small cake candles with orange and black as the colors. It can also be other shapes like the witch’s broom for a more obvious touch.

- The cake’s design should be elaborate. Aside from having the two Halloween colors on the wedding cake, some fondant icing could also be shaped into skulls, witches, witch’s broom, pumpkin, bats, tombstones, and other related stuff and placed onto the different layers.

- The flowers can be the combination also of black and orange. Those florists who are experienced and really talented can have a way to achieve these colors for the flowers.
- The casual wedding dresses should also not be left behind. Obviously, the bridesmaids can wear the said color combination. The bride, on the other hand, can opt to use a bridal gown of the same colors (Which can really be new and unique) or she can just stick to wearing a traditional white wedding gown. For me, I prefer the second suggestion in order to keep the feeling of a wedding.

This may not seem like a viable choice for many people for now. But since fashion is dynamic, anything can happen.
